Time to plant the peas

I’ve been eager to get this year’s vegetable garden started — ever since we had a small “heat wave” in February.  Finally, I made time to connect with the non-physical elements of my garden (especially the Deva of the Vegetable Garden) in a coning.  I wanted to know what seeds to plant this year for the 26 vegetable beds (about 550 square feet of space).

Next, I used kinesiology to test for which seeds were to go in which beds.  Then I figured out the layouts within each of the beds.  And THEN I started planting seeds.  I realize the photo of the bed above is rather dull to look at.  However, underneath that straw lies well-watered soil with lots of pea, beet and watercress seeds.  Soon they’ll sprout and the gardening season will have begun.

I’m experimenting with a different mulch cover for some of the beds this year.  Having used straw for years, I located a nice pile of well-composted leaf litter which I’m placing on some of the beds.
