We have experienced a two day reprieve from winter’s cold weather. Today I walked up a slope and discovered the snowdrops are blooming. In fact, some of them have been blooming a while because they had dead blossoms already. I got “up close and personal” with the blooms and sniffed. They do have a fragrance — small but noticeable.
Seeing the blooming snowdrops gave me hope for Spring and I looked for other signs of Spring — like asparagus shoots (okay, I know it’s really much too early for asparagus). I did find the garlic growing well (considering the winter) . . .
And the yarrow has tiny shoots of green feathers . . .
Thank goodness for little bits of green and little blossoms.
