Now that winter is really here, I am so glad I put row covers over the late-planted fall garden beds. The greens which sprouted in the warmer weather have survived some extremely cold temperatures — with two or four layers of protective fabric over them. Here are the kale plants which I’ve been nibbling as I thin them out:
